5 Basic Steps to
Working with FDC

First Meeting

FDC provides 30-45 minute consultation to walk You through the building process, ask questions, get to know you and your design needs to see if we are a good fit.

Design Phase

FDC reviews the site’s existing conditions and provides conceptual drawings or ideas that integrate Your goals. We provide aesthetic direction as well as explain building code requirements.

Document Phase

FDC prepares drawings, details, and materials specifying the design necessary for obtaining permits and instructing how a Contractor should build.

Permitting

The Building Department reviews the drawings and determines whether the proposed work is in accordance with local safety codes or design review.

Construction Administration

Once the Contractor starts work, FDC visits the site to troubleshoot problems that arise. We also meet with You and the Contractor and go over instructions in order to get the details right.
