The Forensic Architect and General Contractor venture began over 25 years ago as an Architect and Project Manager. This unique career path began while preparing construction drawings and writing specifications for various building types.

The forensic skills arose from the investigations of below-grade foundations, exterior walls, and roofing incurring water intrusion problems for commercial and residential buildings.  Not only did these problems require creative solutions – but unique construction methods to repair damages.  Oftentimes, these forensic investigations and repair designs gave way to contractor bidding and building construction oversight.

Forensic investigations created an analytical analysis “skill set”.  These skills are essential to distinguish the design intent, work in place, and rate of occurrence for alleged construction defects.  These are the “basic tools” for deposition and testifying as a designated expert witness in the design, remodeling, contracting, standard of care and contract interpretation.

As Architects, we love the creativity and challenging aspects of resolving architectural designs. The building design involves far more than its appearance. Buildings must be functional, safe, economical and meet the needs of the people that use them.

As building contractors, we are experienced managers who provide oversight during the entire building construction process. Our knowledge includes a strong understanding of every aspect of the building/remodeling and the ability to answer questions on building materials, subcontractors’ work and building permits necessary to ensure the work is finished in a safe manner and up to code.
